We are looking for library volunteers

Volunteering as a library volunteer or library coordinator will help to make a difference to the residents in and around the Stoke Gifford Retirement Village.

The Extra Care Charitable Trust and South Gloucestershire Council is offering a library service at the new Scholars Chase Library located in this brand new location and development next to the University of the West of England, Bristol (West Gate Entrance).

The Library sits alongside a restaurant, hair salon, gym, games room, shops and village hall and offers a range of books, DVDs, audiobooks and access to computers and Wi-Fi. We would like to offer a wide range of opening times to residents but to do this we require some volunteers to help open the library.

We have 2 voluntary roles that are a great opportunity to gain work experience in a customer focussed environment.

Library volunteers: This role includes welcoming members of the community and helping them to utilise the resources available.
Time commitment sought, three hours once a fortnight.

Library coordinators: This role roles includes being the primary contact to the library volunteers, organise rotas and to provide support. This role can be shared.

Time commitment sought, three hours once a week.
