Description of the Volunteer Role:
Do you have an excellent telephone manner? Could you be sensitive and calm when taking a call from a potentially distressed caller needing a counselling service?
Listening Post Receptionists are an important part of the service as they are the first point of contact for clients accessing counselling. A warm, welcoming, calm approach is essential. Receptionists will also meet people who are coming into the centre for appointments.
For this role you need to have good communication skills, non-judgemental attitude, be able to work in a confidential environment and be professional at all times.
As part of this role you may undertake administration tasks as needed. You will be working as part of a team of volunteers and paid staff.
Volunteers from all age groups are welcomed, however the minimum age for this role is 18. Roles are available at our Stroud, Cheltenham and Gloucester centres.
