SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, is looking for a Treasurer to support them at HMS Flying Fox Winterstoke Road

SSAFA exists to relieve need, suffering and distress amongst the Armed Forces, veterans and their families in order to support their independence and dignity

Duties of a Division Treasurer include:

  • Maintaining a Division bank account ensuring adequate funds are available to meet the Division’s needs including casework and immediate grants.
  • Recording the receipt and disbursement of all monies paid to the Division, and making all authorised payments. SSAFA provides an online Finance Management System for this purpose.
  • Maintaining a separate record of all receipts and payments made to individuals from Service, Regimental and other funds.
  • Reconciling bank accounts on a regular basis.
  • Preparation of the year end Division accounts.
  • Arranging the annual independent review of year end Division accounts and submitting to the Branch Treasurer within the appropriate timescales.
  • Remitting surplus sums of money to the Branch, following consultation with the Division Secretary.
