Investments and grants are available to organisations providing support services for charities and social enterprises in England seeking social investment. application deadline 5 November.

A total fund of £1.5 million is available.

It is expected that most bids will fall in the range of:

  • Small grants - £5,000 to £15,000.
  • Medium grants - £20,000 to £40,000.
  • Large grants - £45,000 to £60,000.

Applicants are advised to ensure that their request reflects budget needs in line with the potential for social impact.

The Connect Fund is managed by the Barrow Cadbury Trust, an independent charitable foundation committed to bringing about socially just change, working in partnership with Access – the Foundation for Social Investment.

The £1.8 million Fund will provide grants and investment to strengthen the social investment market in England to better meet the needs of charities and social enterprises. The idea behind the fund is to facilitate the development of a strong, sustainable, collaborative community of social investment providers that work together to build a better market.

The first phase of grants will look at filling the gaps in the infrastructure of the social investment market by supporting collaboration on data management, skill development, sector networks, or other resource solutions.

A second phase of funding will provide feasibility grants for voluntary sector infrastructure organisations to explore models of enterprise-driven solutions with the potential to connect places and sectors to social investment.
