As part of our support for small organisations, we employed and seconded two members of staff. One to South Gloucestershire Disability Equality Network and one to Abbotswood Action Group.

The South Gloucestershire Disability Equality Network (SGDEN)

Brings together local disabled people and the organisations who work with them to speak out collectively about what will improve lives for disabled people. We seconded Sophie Wainwright  in the role of Development Manager.

Kay, Vice Chair at SGDEN says,

“CVS has allowed our group to take on our first member of staff, which we didn’t have the capacity or expertise to do ourselves. They take care of  HR and payroll, are currently assisting us with supervision and other related help as we need. This has made a massive impact on our group as we can focus on our aims.”

Abbotswood Action Group (AAG), Yate

Brings together local residents, councillors and voluntary agencies with the aim to enhance Abbotswood, Yate as a place to live and work. We seconded Rob Elliot in the role of Development Worker.

Caroline and Paul, Abbotswood Action Group Committee Members say,

“The support from CVS helped us to focus on our aims and has  given us a better sense of direction and more confidence. We particularly valued the support that CVS provided for our first steps into becoming an employer. It took a lot of stress away from our committee.”
