Rights of Way Improvement Plan

South Gloucestershire Council, Bath and North East Council and Bristol City Council have jointly produced a new draft Rights of Way Improvement Plan (ROWIP) to cover the period up until 2026.

The Rights of Way Improvement Plan (ROWIP) is intended to set out an assessment of the current rights of way network and identify strategic steps which the Councils intend to take in partnership with various stakeholders to improve the network for the benefit of the public.

The draft ROWIP contains a particular emphasis on improving the way that the network is managed in the context of challenging public finances and addressing the challenges and opportunities which arise as a result of the continued high level of development within the three Council areas.

A key aim is to increase use of the rights of way network, particularly amongst ethic minorities and members of the public with disabilities.
