Receptionist Volunteer

Could you be one of our new Volunteer receptionist?

We are looking for volunteers to support our charity based in Kingswood. Kinergy has over 20 years’ experience working with volunteers who support victims/survivors of childhood sexual abuse, sexual abuse and rape. We are based in Kingswood which is on the boarder of Bristol and South Gloucestershire. Our volunteers work together in many different ways to provide counselling, support and raise awareness.

About Kinergy

Kinergy was founded in 1996 and currently offers support through:

- one to one counselling for up to 24 weeks

- group therapy up to 20 weeks

- psycho-educational groups

- peer support group (drop in once a month)

We understand how sexual violence, sexual abuse and rape can affect all areas of a client’s life. We aim to provide clients with a safe, accepting and supportive environment so that you can come to terms with the past, enjoy the present and look forward to the future.

All our counsellors either have or are in process of getting a professional qualification accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

What are they looking for?

The role of the receptionist is key to creating a welcoming and positive culture at Kinergy, making the process of arranging appointments, phone calls from clients and agencies and paperwork maintenance as smooth as possible.

Activities will include:

- Providing a welcoming reception to clients and counsellors.

- Ensuring that all non-clinical resources are in place for the smooth running of the clinic

- Answering phone calls and emails.

- Taking messages and passing information onto counsellors / staff

- Welcoming and directing visitors to the agency.

- Time: We are asking for a commitment of 4-12 hours per week

The qualities and skills required for this role:

 - Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate well with service users, project staff and volunteers

- Excellent organisational and administrative skills,

- Punctuality reliability

- Understanding of confidentiality

- Understanding of the needs vulnerable clients who have experienced sexual abuse

- Ability to complete induction training and other essential training

- Ability to use computer programs such as Outlook & Word
