Our popular Pop-up shop is back!

To celebrate National Volunteers’ Week, Thornbury Volunteer Centre will once again be running a pop-up shop at 1a St Mary Street (formerly Store Twenty One) in the St Mary Centre. The grand opening will be at 10am on Saturday 27 May and will continue all week until Saturday 3 June (closed Bank Holiday Monday). Its aim is to bring volunteering into the shopping centre, raise the profile of the Centre, highlight the hundreds of local volunteering opportunities available and encourage more people to volunteer.

Last year this proved to be very successful with at least 15 potential new volunteers registering and many more taking information.

The shop will also act as a way to raise funds for the Centre, which as a small local charity is always in need of support. It will sell a wide assortment of good quality pre-owned goods from clothing to furniture, bric-a-brac to toys. We would welcome any donations, please contact Kim Webb at mail@volunteer-thornbury.co.uk to arrange delivery. Any items not sold at the end of our time will be donated to the other Thornbury charity shops.

Also making a welcome return will be the 1940’s Tearoom offering delicious home-made cakes, tea and coffee. So once you have finished browsing through the items for sale, relax to the sound of Glenn Miller with a cup of tea and a chat.

The shop will be open between 10am-4pm daily and also on the following three Saturdays, 10, 17, 24 June and 1 July. We may also “pop-up” at other times during those weeks so please keep a look out.
