DCMS/Wolfson Museums and Galleries Improvement Fund 2018-20

Capital grants are available to selected museums and galleries across England in order to make improvements to buildings or collections in England.

A total of £4 million will be available for Round 18. Grants of up to a maximum £300,000 are available. Funding sought must be no more than 75% of the total eligible project cost, where the total project cost does not include VAT and other prohibited costs.

The Museums and Galleries Improvement Fund was established in 2000 to improve the quality of displays, exhibition spaces, collection interpretation and disabled access in museums and galleries across England.

The programme is jointly funded by the Wolfson Foundation and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). Museums and galleries eligible to bid for money from the Fund include those sponsored by DCMS, designated university-based collections, museums with designated collections and museums with non-designated collections in regional hub.
