Mick Aston Archaeology Fund
The Mick Aston Archaeology Fund (MAAF) offers up to £1000 to voluntary groups, societies and individuals from England and Wales, to support new or existing innovative research projects, that enhance the understanding of the local heritage, through the direct involvement of the community.
Project proposals can cover any aspect of the archaeological research, from the production and analysis of data including excavation, geophysics, buildings recording, landscape survey, experimental archaeology and field walking. Applications are also welcomed from projects using new methods of engagement and dissemination that will help introduce a wider audience to archaeology.
The Mick Aston Archaeology Fund is now also accepting applications for excavations relating to metal detecting spot finds. Further details on the terms and conditions relating to this type of grant can be found in the guidelines on the website.
