Treasurer sought to: Manage SGDEN’s finances, Ensure SGDEN is financially secure, Ensure that proper financial records and procedures for SGDEN are maintained.  More information on this role can be found here

Management Committee Members: seeking people with an interest in or knowledge of disability issues to join the management committee. No specific skills are needed, just a willingness to get involved!

South Gloucestershire Disability Equality Network (SGDEN) works to make life better for disabled people in the area. We bring together local disabled people and the organisations who work with them to speak out collectively about what will improve our lives.  Our aim is to influence the South Gloucestershire Council and health services and other public bodies to get them to develop services which are fully accessible to disabled people.

Over the coming two years we will be focussing on disabled people who feel or are at risk of isolation, safety and hate crime, and health and fitness. We will be delivering events and sessions in collaboration with other local organisations, so this is a great opportunity to find out more, gain contacts and take ownership of projects, should you wish to.

We are also in the process of becoming a Charitable Incorporated Organisation , which we hope to achieve in the near future.

We currently meet monthly on a Tuesday afternoon in Yate which we would very much like you to attend, though if this is not possible please do still get in touch.

For more information or if you’d like to chat about the role (you’d be most welcome to attend one of our meetings before making any commitment), please get in touch with Sophie on admin@sgden.org.uk
