Involve South Gloucestershire is a new project which aims to provide the framework for local voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations to be matched with employees from private and public sector organisations supporting a mutually beneficial exchange of skills and expertise.
Helping local VCSE organisations grow and develop and providing private and public sector employees with opportunities to volunteer, using and developingtheir knowledge, experience and skills.

Brokering Essilor Ltd volunteers for Thornbury in Bloom
Essilor Ltd encourage their staff to take time out to volunteer. A group of staff have volunteered in the garden at Turnberrie’s each Tuesday, clearing borders and planting, and in Filnore Woods, helping working parties and scything grass.

Brokering Europa Group volunteers for Camphill Community Trust
Europa Group, Thornbury’s largest employer and insurance services provider, sends staff to volunteer at The Camphill Community Trust, a supported- living community for adults with learning disabilities, each month. Volunteers help with the bio-organic farm and in craft workshops.

This project is being developed by a Steering Group, chaired by Alan Andrews, Community Liaison Co-ordinator, John Lewis Cribbs Causeway. Other members of the Steering Group include Essilor, Business West, Merlin Housing Society, Thornbury Volunteer Centre, DHI and CVS South Gloucestershire.
