Voluntary role as a Trustee of Gloucestershire Community Foundation

Gloucestershire Community Foundation works with donors keen to invest in local causes and build a positive future for our communities. It is an influential charity, strong on collaboration and in a unique position to develop philanthropy advice in the county. The Foundation contributes to community development via our grant-making programmes and research and is about to refresh their strategic plan so this is an exciting time to be involved in the governance of an ambitious and dynamic charity with an endowment for Gloucestershire communities worth over £6.5 million.

Looking for new Trustees from diverse backgrounds to join our Board; people who care about Gloucestershire and can make a strong contribution to our work making a positive impact on Gloucestershire communities.

You might have entrepreneurial skills or be a community leader and ideally you’ll have experience in one of these areas:

  • Marketing/communications/media/PR
  • Investment management
  • Charity governance
  • Working with Professional Advisers such as lawyers, wealth advisers or private bankers
  • IT/Digital technology

The appointment is voluntary for an initial term of four years, with potential for one further term of four years.  Board meetings are held six times a year usually in the evening. We run several task and finish groups which also meet five to six times a year.
