Lesbian Gay Bi-sexual Trans

Numbers of lesbian gay bi-sexual and transsexual (LGBT) people in South Gloucestershire are not known.  All figures quoted in reports are based on national estimates suggesting that 5-7% of the population are lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans (around 15,000).

The Diversity Trust is a non-profit private limited company, supplying high quality, bespoke training and consultancy on equality, diversity and inclusion across the UK. Working with diverse communities and partner organisations to;

  • research and engage
  • tackle and prevent hate crime
  • tackle and prevent domestic violence and abuse
  • reduce health inequalities and substance misuse

The Diversity Newsletter is published regularly, giving updates on equality, diversity and inclusion news and the work the Trust does to support work in this area.

South Gloucestershire Council commissioned the Diversity Trust to carry out a study of the health and wellbeing of LGBT people in the district. Read this report here.
