The age profile of South Gloucestershire is very much in line with the UK as a whole, with rising numbers of older people reflecting growing life expectancy.

Older People

There are two organisations working with older people in South Gloucestershire.

South Gloucestershire Over 50s Forum

A representative organisation for older people in the district.  For more information please contact The Over 50's Forum

Age UK South Gloucestershire

An organisation provide a range of support services for older people.  For more information visit www.ageuk.org.uk/southgloucestershire

Youth

South Gloucestershire Council supports a Youth Board to speak out about issues affecting young people.  Young people are able to voice their opinion and make changes to things that affect the communities they live in.  The Board meet regularly with senior management and councillors to share their opinions and views and have a say in the development of services and other young people’s issues.

Members are aged between 13 – 19 (25 for young people with learning difficulties and/ or disabilities) and come from across South Gloucestershire. They meet once every 2 weeks on a Tuesday evening in the Kingswood Youth Hub.
