Most children in UK's poorest areas now growing up in poverty

A study published by the End Child Poverty coalition of charities has found that more than half of all children in the UK’s very poorest areas are now growing up in poverty, an impact of the benefits-freeze that has continued to affect Britain’s least well-off families. The findings come amidst growing fears that Universal Credit changes will push a further one million children into poverty.
