RSA and Transition Spaces have published 'A matter of conviction', the final report of their Future Prison project, which set out to explore how prisons in England and Wales could better support rehabilitation.

The report sets out a blueprint for a community-based rehabilitative prison and a policy framework to support such models. It finds that safety and staff numbers are critical to changing the purpose of prisons to one that is truly rehabilitative, but this needs to form the foundation of wider and deeper system change.
