Prisoners' Education Trust has publish 'Great Expectations: towards better learning outcomes for young people and young adults in custody'.

The report looks at the educational opportunities for young people in custody. It makes ten recommendations, starting from the premise that custody should be a last resort and that further reductions in numbers of both young people and young adults in custody needs to be a clear policy goal.

Although there have been some reported improvements in resettlement support and hours spent in education for young people once in custody, much more could be done to develop a culture of learning and aspiration.
