Case Study: Family Fun Day, May 2016

A traditional event in Kingswood Park, historically organised by South Gloucestershire Council. After withdrawing from the event, the Council asked the Friends of Kingswood Park to organize the event in 2016. The event includes live entertainment on the bandstand, workshops, sports activities, a fun fair, demonstrations, stalls and refreshments, with plenty of free activities for children.

"Fantastic to be part of your Family Fun Day again this year!"  Visitor.

Kingswood has a rich heritage. From the King’s Forest, through coal mining, lawlessness, Methodism, boot making, brass working, motor cycles ending with rocket scientists - Kingswood has done it all! We are convinced we should celebrate this heritage fully in Kingswood Park as we believe this goes a long to way to raise community self-esteem. Working with the Local History Society we started with a Heritage board in the park giving a short graphic overview of our heritage. The board was unveiled by the Chair of the Council in January 2016.
