The voluntary sector has representatives/advocates sitting at tables where the decision making in South Gloucestershire is made, centered around the Local Strategic Partnership (LSP).
This LSP is a non-statutory body made of public, private, VCS (voluntary/community sector) organisations, which aims to work together to promote the economic, social & environmental well-being of the people in South Gloucestershire and create “South Gloucestershire - a great place to live and work.”
The LSP Board: CVS South Gloucestershire, The Care Forum, South Gloucestershire’s Faith and Belief Forum, and the Equalities Forum sit here as representatives for the voluntary sector.
The LSP Chief Officers Group: the voluntary sector is represented by CVS South Gloucestershire and The Care Forum
The LSP Themes - the LSP is divided into five themed sub partnerships - Health and Well Being, Environment, Economy and Skills, Children and Young People, Safer and Stronger. The voluntary sector has a place(s) on each of these partnerships. Please note that this structure is currently being reviewed with a new proposed structure going out for consultation in the autumn.
Reporting
The development of the most effective mechanisms for reporting on LSP activity and decisions being made is in progress. This includes looking at existing communication channels and representation/feedback mechanisms in place and exploring new options including social media.
In the meantime, for more information please either contact clare.adamson@cvs-sg.org.uk or register to receive the papers for the LSP meetings on the South Gloucestershire Councils website here.
