Why is it important?

The Compact is a good practice framework for partnership working between the public sector and the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector. It acknowledges the over-arching goal that we all have in common, namely the care and development of our communities, and emphasizes that to serve our communities to the best of our abilities, we need to work together as equal partners.

This means, that from the smallest community group to the largest national charity, operating in South Gloucestershire, we all have a role to play in working with the public sector to provide the best possible services for the people and communities of South Gloucestershire. Whether just sharing your knowledge and expertise about local issues or being directly involved in delivering services to local people, the Compact supports the development of strong and fair relationships with the public sector.
