Many people have become managers of people for the first time, often without training so far and may need support to know they are on the right track.

Sometimes managers have difficult people to manage and may need practical help with how to manage them and their performance.

Other managers maybe need to develop greater confidence that they are doing it the right way.

This is a very practical course which will look at 10 practical steps to make you a better leader. The 10 practical steps will include – ‘If only I had more time!’, ‘Hints for using delegation effectively’, and ‘Developing my Leadership Styles’. On the day we will share with you the 10 practical steps and ask you what are your top 5 preferences to look at. We will then give those subject areas more allocated time during the day. We really want make a difference to how you work as a Leader in your organisation.

Three questions to ask yourself in deciding whether you would want to attend this course:
1.Do I think I am a great manager?
2.Do I think I could do some things differently?
3.Do I always get the best out of people?
If your answer is ‘no’ or ‘unsure’ to any of the questions - this course is the one for you!

CVS South Gloucestershire is working in partnership with The Care Forum and Digital Outreach to enable local organisations and groups to increase awareness of the switchover from analogue to digital television by running events or other activities in connection with switchover. The Care Forum is managing and administering the Grant Programme in areas covered by the Mendip transmitter which includes South Gloucestershire.

What types of events, activities or services can be funded?
Grants should be to help engage people, fund activities or raise awareness of switchover in a way that adds value to what is already planned. We want to help local organisations to include digital switchover information in local events, meetings, presentations and visits with the target groups we need to reach.
The fund is only for fund activities that can demonstrate that they can engage:

Older people

People with sensory, mobility or dexterity impairments

People with learning difficulties

People who have experienced mental health problems

People whose first language is not English

People who may be socially isolated.

If you work with any of these groups of people and you would like to find out more about how you can gain funding to help people understand the Digital Switchover then come along to this half day event, be trained to deliver switchover training yourself and be informed about how you can be funded to run your own event.
